Current Brookwood boys coach Adel Mohsen hugs one of his players after winning the 2015 state championship with Duluth.

Brookwood boys soccer coach Adel Mohsen was honored Tuesday with the High School Coach of Significance Award, given by United Soccer Coaches.

The national award is given to one coach in each state who coaches for character and uses the soccer field to teach life lessons to high-schoolers.

The 2019 season was Mohsen’s first as Brookwood’s head coach — he coached Duluth from 2014 to 2018, winning the state championship in 2015.

Before taking the Duluth job, he was an assistant at Brookwood for eight seasons.
