Archer's Faith Barth

LAWRENCEVILLE — Archer and Mill Creek split their first-round Class AAAAAAA state playoff softball series on Tuesday night, necessitating a deciding Game 3 on Wednesday.

The host Tigers won the opener 3-2 while the Hawks rallied to take Game 2 in walk-off fashion with a 4-3 win.

Archer's Kailyn James tossed a complete game to pick up the win in the circle in Game 1. Olivia Craig had the game winning RBI with a sacrifice fly. Faith Barth led the offense with three hits, scored twice and drove in a run. Taylor Anderson also had a hit and scored a run. Barth connected for a home run in Game 2 for the Tigers.
