The fifth annual Gwinnett Daily Post Metro ATL Challenge will be held Saturday at two locations, Archer and Lanier.

Of the 20 boys and girls high school basketball teams in the event, 16 are from Gwinnett. The field includes two reigning state champions, the Buford girls (Class AAAAA) and the Lanier girls (Class AAAAAA).

South Gwinnett plays a doubleheader to open Saturday’s action at Archer, with the girls facing Stephenson at 1 p.m. and the boys to follow against Collins Hill. The 2:30 p.m. game begins a series of three straight boys games — Peachtree Ridge-Walnut Grove at 4 p.m., Mill Creek-Cedar Shoals at 5:30 p.m. and Archer-Stephenson at 7 p.m.

The early games at Lanier begin with the Duluth and Apalachee boys at 1 p.m., followed by the Grayson and Peachtree Ridge girls at 2:30 p.m. Buford and Mill Creek have a girls game at 4 p.m.

The last two games at Lanier make up a doubleheader as the host Longhorns play Parkview — girls at 5:30 p.m. and boys at 7 p.m.
