DECATUR — Parkview’s girls soccer team, ranked first in Class AAAAAAA, went on the road Friday night and posted a 1-0 victory over Decatur, ranked first in AAAAA.

Nieva Gaither scored the game-winning goal in the first half off an assist from Kendra Davis.

Goalkeeper Timmie Peters posted her third shutout of the season, and the Panthers (6-0) got stellar play in the defense from Sydney Mudd, Sydni Wilson, Michelle Lapenta and Damaris Gaines.


Mill Creek 11, Discovery 1

HOSCHTON – Mill Creek's Ari Aronoff scored four goals to lead the Hawks to an 11-1 win over Discovery on Friday.

Ella Williams scored twice while Mill Creek (6-0, 1-0 Region 6-AAAAAAA) also received goals from Ellie McIntyre, Nicole Ward, Jocelyn Accardy, Katie Gelderman and Sammie Smith.

Mountain View 5, Johnson 1

LAWRENCEVILLE – Mountain View downed visiting Johnson 5-1 on Friday. Isabel Selger scored two goals to lead the Bears (3-4-1). Kennedy Jackson, Sydney Woods and Katie Reinhart also scored in the victory.

North Gwinnett 2, Lakeside-DeKalb 0

ATLANTA – Aliah Kitchens scored both goals to lead North Gwinnett to a 2-0 win over host Lakeside-DeKalb on Friday.

Kelly Hall recorded the shutout in goal for the Bulldogs (5-2).

Dacula 4, Winder-Barrow 0

DACULA – Dacula's Danai Chimedza scored two goals to lead the Falcons to a 4-0 win over Winder-Barrow on Friday. Madison Severy and Andi Wells also scored for Dacula (5-0, 1-0 Region 8-AAAAAA).

Wesleyan 2, Chamblee 2

PEACHTREE CORNERS – Wesleyan tied visiting Chamblee 2-2 on Friday. Jocelyn Lopez and Ashley Cowart scored the goals for the Wolves (1-2-1).

Providence Christian 2, Athens Academy 1 (PKs)

LILBURN – Providence Christian defeated Athens Academy 2-1 on Friday.

The teams were tied 1-1 after regulation and overtime before the Storm (4-1) prevailed 3-1 in penalty kicks. Ally Weisgerber scored off an assist from Sara Orji in regulation. Leila Moss made 22 saves in net for Providence Christian.


North Gwinnett 1, Lakeside-DeKalb 0

ATLANTA – North Gwinnett shut out Lakeside-DeKalb 1-0 on Friday.

The Bulldogs (6-0-1) scored on a goal from Mateo Mejia off an assist from Jonathan Laurent. Ben Brink recorded the shutout in goal for North.

Archer 5, Newton 0

LAWRENCEVILLE – Archer blanked visiting Newton 5-0 on Friday.

Caleb Busboom scored twice to lead the Tigers (3-4). Also scoring were Ivan Ivastanin, Jacob Cundey and Shaddai Campbell. Zachary Hutzell and Javier Jarez combined on the shutout in goal for Archer.

Brookwood 2, Duluth 1

SNELLVILLE – Brookwood defeated Duluth 2-1 on Friday.

Harbin Ji and Semir Kurtalic scored goals for the Broncos (3-3).

Mountain View 2, Johnson 0

LAWRENCEVILLE – Jason Strambu's two goals led Mountain View to a 2-0 win over Johnson on Friday. The win improves the Bears record to 6-2 on the season.

Wesleyan 3, Chamblee 2

PEACHTREE CORNERS – Wesleyan downed visiting Chamblee 3-2 on Friday. Fletcher Morris, Liam Coxhead and Jonathon Lopez all scored goals for the Wolves (2-3).

Athens Academy 2, Providence Christian 0

LILBURN – Athens Academy scored an early goal and made it stand up as it defeated Providence Christian 2-0 on Friday. Athens Academy scored five minutes into the game and tallied again in the second half to drop the Storm to 3-2 on the season.
