Berkmar grad Sean Calhoun was hired recently as the new head football coach at Carrollton High School, where he replaces the retiring Ed Dudley.
Calhoun previously was the offensive coordinator at Colquitt County, where he helped the team to back-to-back Class AAAAAA state championships. Before going to Colquitt, he was an assistant coach and offensive coordinator at Collins Hill, where he coached current Minnesota Vikings quarterback Taylor Heinicke. Calhoun played college football at Valdosta State, where he won two national titles.
Carrollton went 10-12 the past two seasons under Dudley, who replaced Rayvan Teague. Teague led the Trojans to double-digit wins nine times from 2002-2013 and made two state-title game appearances.
The Carrollton principal is former Parkview soccer coach and administrator Mark Albertus, who also is a Parkview grad.
