NORCROSS – The Norcross girls showed their youth in the first quarter while falling behind by 10 points
The Wesleyan girls reached the state championship game in each of the past 11 seasons in an unprecedented run of Georgia high school basketball success.
Going by opponents’ records, the Norcross boys had the easiest path to the Elite Eight of any Class AAAAAA team.
Norcross got past Valdosta in the second round of the Class AAAAAA girls basketball state playoffs
Norcross (26-3) won its 17th straight Wednesday night, defeating Berkmar 62-49 in the first round of the state playoffs before a large and loud home crowd at the House of Blue.
The Norcross girls won the Region 7-AAAAAA championship without Ty Gillespie, but they’ll need her to make a long run in the state tournament.
DULUTH – Angie Hembree gave Vash Perry a big hug and the junior guard certainly deserved it.
SUWANEE — Things didn’t start well for the Lanier girls when Kalen Surles was ordered to change out of her orange undershirt at the opening tip because it didn’t match her white jersey.
DULUTH – Down 20-2 after the first quarter, the North Gwinnett could have quit in the Region 7-AAAA third-place game. They didn’t. Behind by 20 again in the third quarter, a comeback seemed impossible. It wasn’t.
SUWANEE – The celebration at midcourt by the Osborne boys was a wild one and with good reason.
