Archer defensive back Deondre Singleton (3), left, makes an interception of a pass intended for Mountain View wide receiver Frederick Hill (3) during the 2012 season.
After a weekend visit, Archer senior Deondre Singleton made a commitment to the Duke football program.
Singleton chose the Blue Devils from an offer list that included Penn State, Vanderbilt and others. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder was a two-way player throughout his high school career, but likely projects as a safety in college.
As a senior, Singleton was a first-team all-county selection by both the Daily Post and the Touchdown Club of Gwinnett. He made 45 tackles and intercepted two passes in 2012, and also had 21 catches for 329 yards and three touchdowns.
