PREP ROUNDUP: Spartans boys shut out Walker 2-0

NORCROSS -- Max Gomas and Davis Bryan each scored a goal as No. 1 state-ranked (Class AA) Greater Atlanta Christian downed Walker 2-0 in a boys soccer clash of traditional powerhouses Tuesday night at GAC.

Goalkeeper Jake Doiron recorded the shutout for the Spartans, who improved to 3-0 on the season.

Dacula 2, Lakeside-DeKalb 2

DACULA -- Dacula goalie Bryce Lackey recorded 15 saves to help lift the Falcons to a 2-2 tie with Lakeside-DeKalb on Tuesday night. Steven Agudelo and Joe Efford both scored goals on assists from Hunter Haynes.

Dacula (2-0-1) let a late lead slip away on a penalty kick and had to settle for the tie with the Vikings.

Collins Hill 2, Berkmar 0

SUWANEE -- Collins Hill improved to 3-0 on the season with a 2-0 win over Berkmar on Tuesday night. Paull Ille and Alen Maslo scored goals for the Eagles. Maslo and Freddie Maier had assists. Jackson Taylor had seven saves to secure the shutout.

Buford 3, Clarke Central 2

BUFORD -- Buford defeated Clarke Central 3-2 when it downed the Gladiators 4-2 on penalty kicks.

Matt Bonadies and Jesus Deleon had goals for the Wolves (3-0).

Dunwoody 1, Norcross 0

DUNWOODY -- Dunwoody defeated Norcross 1-0 Tuesday night, dropping the Blue Devils to 2-1 on the season.

South Gwinnett 1, Loganville 0

LOGANVILLE -- South Gwinnett posted its first win of the season with a 1-0 shutout over Loganville Tuesday night.

Amar Salihic scored the game's only goal, and Max Capamaglia recorded the shutout for the Comets (1-2).

Grayson 3, Flowery Branch 0

LOGANVILLE -- Grayson defeated Flowery Branch 3-0 Tuesday night. Jhwan Tucker, Danny Kierath and Arijan Jaganjac scored for the Rams (2-0).

Jonathan Griffin notched the shutout in goal for Grayson.

Mill Creek 5, Hebron Christian 0

HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek had five different players score en route to a 5-0 victory over Hebron Christian Tuesday night.

Chris Schuetz, Waldyr Pierre-Louis, Tyler Moody, Billy Johnson and Justin Marshall each scored for the Hawks (2-0).

Duluth 3, Lanier 0

DULUTH -- Duluth defeated Lanier 3-0 Tuesday night. Nikolai Iotav, Carlos Delarosa and Edgar Camarena scored for the Wildcats (2-0).

Meadowcreek 4, Druid Hills 0

NORCROSS -- Meadowcreek improved to 2-0 with a 4-0 shutout of Druid Hills Tuesday night.

Girls Soccer

Duluth 4, Lanier 0

DULUTH -- Duluth improved to 2-0 on the season with a 4-0 victory over Lanier on Tuesday night. Sarah Miller scored twice and Hannah Huizenga and Daniela Diaz added goals for the Wildcats.

Huizenga had two assists and Madison Whitley had one assist, while keeper Tiffany Sornpao recorded the shutout.

Collins Hill 8, Berkmar 0

SUWANEE -- Collins Hill defeated Berkmar 8-0 Tuesday night. Latia Jones, Kelsey Lawrence and Dena Cisic each had two goals. Paige Hoover and Paula Maldonado each had a goal for the Eagles (3-0).

Grayson 1, Flowery Branch 0

LOGANVILLE -- Grayson improved to 2-0 with a 1-0 win over Flowery Branch on Tuesday night. Brittney Bennett scored for the Rams, while Cadye Picklesimer recorded the shutout for Grayson.

Norcross 2, Dunwoody 0

DUNWOODY -- Norcross defeated Dunwoody 2-0 Tuesday night. Jordan Shapiro scored on an assist from Jordan Lewter for the Blue Devils (2-0).

Maddie Stephen added an insurance goal on a feed from Jenna McEachern.

Sydney Hanna and Kennedy White split the shutout in net for Norcross.

Buford 10, Clarke Central 0

BUFORD -- Buford improved to 3-0 with a 10-0 win over Clarke Central on Tuesday. Ceely Coker recorded a double hat trick, scoring six goals.

Mia Edmond scored twice and Brie Smith added a goal for the Wolves.

Druid Hills 5, Meadowcreek 1

NORCROSS -- Druid Hills defeated Meadowcreek 5-1 Tuesday night. Hilda Trochez scored the only goal for the Mustangs (1-1).

Mountain View 4, Archer 1

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Mountain View defeated Archer 4-1 Tuesday to pick up its first victory of the season. Sahl Hakim and Jeffrey Coy were singles winners, while the doubles teams of Erik Sequeira and Devin Britt and Troy Major and Austin Bargeron paced the Bears to the win.

Holy Innocents' 3, Providence Christian 2

DULUTH -- Providence Christian dropped its opening match of 2013 when the Storm went down 3-2 to Holy Innocents' on Tuesday at Berkeley Hills Country Club.

Clayton Cheek won his singles match and Taylor McGloghlin and Zack Beavers won their doubles match for Providence.

Tallulah Falls 3, Hebron Christian 2

DACULA -- Hebron Christian dropped its season opener 3-2 to Tallulah Falls on Tuesday. Josh Beck and James Everson were singles winners for the Lions (0-1).

Mill Creek 3, Northview 2

HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek defeated Northview 3-2 Tuesday night. Quentin Lavender, Adam Gonterman and Colin Pendelton all won singles matches for the Hawks.

Brookwood 5, Collins Hill 0

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Brookwood defeated Collins Hill 5-0 Tuesday afternoon. Drew Wendel, Zach Jennings and Ryan Pridgeon were singles winners.

David Brown and Matt Jones, along with Christian Gochnauer and Matt Bullock won their doubles matches for the Broncos (2-0).

North Gwinnett 3, Lambert 2

SUWANEE -- North Gwinnett defeated Lambert 3-2 to win its season opener Tuesday. The Bulldogs (1-0) had been rained out the previous two matches before facing the Longhorns.

Hannah Serdinia and Jada Tijani won singles matches, while the No 2 doubles team of Vanessa Eusebio and Emily Gray was also winners.

Holy Innocents' 3, Providence Christian 2

DULUTH -- Providence lost to Holy Innocents' 3-2 Tuesday afternoon in its opening match of the season at Berkeley Hills Country Club.

Vani Crist and Alex Schlesener were singles winners for the Storm (0-1).

Mountain View 5, Archer 0

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Mountain View improved to 2-1 on the season with a 5-0 win over Archer Tuesday.

Courtney Conley, Jennifer Pham and Victoria Mock won their singles matches. The duos of Allison Pham and Rose Moody and Emily Lopez and Emma Joseph won in doubles.

Mill Creek 4, Northview 1

HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek moved to 3-0 on the season with a 4-1 win over Northview on Tuesday.

Madison Hahn and Abbi Jordan won singles matches for the Hawks. The doubles tandems of Allison Weaver and Lauren Atkinson along with Emily Husfeld and Madison Walsh were also winners for Mill Creek.

Hebron Christian 5, Tallulah Falls 0

DACULA -- Hebron Christian opened its season with a 5-0 win over Tallulah Falls Tuesday.

Darby Duvall, Sara Schmitt and Laura McLear won their singles matches for the Lions (1-0).

Emily Cochran and Abbey Stewart along with McKenzie Lewis and Chelsea Brown were winners in doubles.

Brookwood 4, Collins Hill 1

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Brookwood evened its record at 1-1 on the season with a 4-1 victory over Collins Hill Tuesday.

Gabbie Griffith and Natalie Nadors were singles winners for the Broncos. Keelie Denson and Hannah Mason along with Rachael Amatriain and Anna Garnder won their doubles matches.

Collins Hill's win came from Amanda Gautreaux at No. 3 singles.

Girls Lacrosse

North Gwinnett 12, Brookwood 6

SUWANEE -- North Gwinnett opened its season with a 12-6 win over Brookwood Tuesday.

K.J. Hardaway led the Bulldogs with three goals. Lauren Clay had three goals and Lindsey Thomson had two for the Broncos.

Johns Creek 21, Parkview 1

JOHNS CREEK -- Parkview dropped its season opener 21-1 to Johns Creek on Tuesday night. Riley Fields scored for the Panthers (0-1).

Baseball

Wesleyan 20, Walker 0

NORCROSS -- Johnny Richards fired a four inning no-hitter and Wesleyan defeated Walker 20-0 Tuesday night.

Jahmai Jones had three hits and three RBIs, Ty Maughon had two hits and three RBIs and Conner Woerner also had two hits and three RBIs for Wesleyan (1-0).

Kennesaw Mountain 15, Berkmar 1

LILBURN -- Berkmar dropped its season opener 15-1 to Kennesaw Mountain on Tuesday night. Jordan Delgado pitched well for the Patriots (0-1), but was hurt by numerous errors behind him. David Zamerron doubled and scored for Berkmar.
