PREP ROUNDUP: Hebron boys top Commerce in consolation

DACULA -- Hebron Christian's boys basketball team defeated Commerce 69-48 in the consolation finals of the Region 8-A tournament Saturday night.

The Lions (13-16) will wait to see if they have been selected for the state tournament. Derek Vandiver, Tyler Skidgel and Cory Johnson each scored 14 points for Hebron Christian. The Lions also got 10 points from Ryan Thomas in the winning effort.

Girls Basketball

Hebron Christian 45, Providence Christian 29

DACULA -- Hebron Christian's girls basketball team defeated Providence Christian 45-29 in the consolation finals of the Region 8-A tournament Saturday night. Katie Scott led the Storm (17-10) with 11 points.

Girls Soccer

Dacula 3, Lowdnes 0

DACULA -- Dacula improved to 2-0 on the season with a 3-0 win over Lowdnes on Saturday. Katie McAdams, Makayla Clack and Siara Zedonek scored for the Falcons. Assisting on the goals were Lauren Vick, Kristin Kelly and Valeria Bermeo. Madison Glunn made four saves to post the shutout.

GAC 10, Aquinas 0

AUGUSTA -- Greater Atlanta Christian rolled to a 10-0 win over Aquinas on Saturday. Rachel Garcia led the Spartans (2-0) with four goals and an assist. Taylor Wagnon scored three times and had andassist. Kayla Tuzas and Perry Bitzer scored a goal. Dani Marcano scored and added two assists. Mollie Arrendale assisted on three goals.

Hebron 2, North Cobb 2

LAGRANGE -- Heborn tied North Cobb 2-2 at the LaGrange Invitational on Saturday. Alex Probst scored for the Lions (1-0-1) on an assist from McKenzie Towe. In penalty kicks, Sarah Boyd scored for the Lions to preserve the tie. Lexi Kent made 14 saves for Hebron.

Boys Soccer

Central Gwinnett 3, Oconee County 1

WATKINSVILLE -- Central Gwinnett defeated Oconee County 3-1 Saturday night to win the Oconee Cup tournament. Rigo Gudiel, Brayan Herrera and Samir Ramic scored for the Black Knights, who improved to 2-0 on the season.

Hebron 2, Harris County 0

LAGRANGE -- Cole Redman scored two goals to lead Hebron Christian Academy to a 2-0 win over Harris County on Saturday. Bailey Pinto and Tyler Smith assisted on the goals for the Lions (2-0)
