Three Eagle seniors go way back

Three Collins Hill football players who celebrated their signings Wednesday go way back.

Raymere Thomas, Tra Palmer and Justin Wyatt first met as toddlers and began playing football together as 5-year-olds in the North DeKalb Youth Football Association.

"It's a dream come true," said Thomas, a Charleston Southern signee. "We've known each other since we were 3 or 4 years old. We started playing football together at around 5 years old. It's amazing to sit up there with those guys and see how far we've come."

Wyatt agree with that assessment.

"I grew up with those boys," the Ohio recruit said. "We're all going to college together. That was our goal in middle school. To play at a big school and make mama proud."

Palmer is headed to Navy, meaning all three are splitting up for college football. While Wednesday was about their futures, they also took some times to reflect on their years together.

"We got out of sixth period and we all talked to each other," Palmer said. "Stuff starting getting emotional then. I'm surprised nobody cried. We were like brothers. We always played together. We did everything together."
