SNELLVILLE — Only seven points decided the Collins Hill-South Gwinnett basketball matchups Monday night.
Host South pulled out a narrow 41-39 win in the opener and Collins Hill earned a split with a 58-53 victory over the Comets in the nightcap.
In the boys game, the Eagles (7-2) put four scorers in double figures, led by Darius Joell's 17 points. Eric Ambrosio scored 12 and Devin Mitchell had 11 points, while Johncarlos Reyes had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Collins Hill (4-5) lost in the girls matchup despite 13 points from Emylee Whitten and 11 points and nine rebounds from Madison McAfee. Julianne Bayer had seven points and nine rebounds for the Eagles, while Nykeria Smith added seven points.
